I read the following paragraph today and it made me start thinking;

"This is chapter one of a whole new story for me.  What do you want your new story to look like?  What are you doing to get there?  What do you love doing?  Why aren’t you doing it? If you look at your life in 5 years, do you want to be doing what you are doing today?  What would change if you didn’t do anything?  Not sure what you want to do?  Are you testing an idea every week?  The more failures the better."

Thank you Nicole Crimaldi for making think outside the box.  I need to start asking myself the fore mentioned questions and really get down to the nitty gritty of what I want out of my life.  And subsequently, what I need to do to get there.

Question 1:  What do you want your new story to look like?

In a fairy tale world, the young maiden gets swept off her feet and carried away to a life of  "Happily Ever After." In the real world, you've got to sweat and toil with life's ups and downs until you get to some semblance of success.

I want my new story to be full of success (doesn't everyone?).  In my dreams, I'm a successful wife, mother and event planner.  One who has the home organized in an efficient manner, and who is able to make peoples dreams come true at their weddings, parties and events.

Here's to the next chapter of my life....

Need to be better at this.

It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since I really did a posting on my blog. I promise to do better.
Life has been a whirlwind of activity the past year. I finally received my LSAT score this past week, and thankfully it's good enough to be accepted in to law school. Now I just have to do receive the acceptance letter. Oh yeah, I've got to apply too. :)

Birthday, Bastille Day & National Nude Day...

Happy Birthday to me! It's been a great day so far, and it's only half way done.

This past Saturday some friends threw a huge birthday party for me. There was a BBQ, water balloons, twister, pinata and a drive in movie. Over 70 people showed up to the party, and I was blown away by the friendship and love. It amazes me how many friends I've made in the year that I've lived in Logan. My landlord even came to the party and brought trays of desserts from this fancy restaurant in town called Hamiltons. 2 of the trays were filled with lemon bars which are my favorite dessert! There was even a cake with a collage of pictures from my past on it.
My friend Kim D. was the main organizer for the party, and I owe her so much. One of the best parts that she did, was find a tiara for me to wear. The whole day I felt like a princess.

We watched Shrek and then "I am Legend" during the movie part. Couches, love sacks, chairs and tarps were pulled out to the drive way to watch the movies that were projected up on the side of the building. I got to sit on the couch in the dead center, and was made into a "becky sandwich" by Corlan and Jake. Thank goodness they were there to keep me warm, because the temperature dropped pretty quickly once it became dark.

All in all, I'm having a great birthday. Pictures will be coming soon!

Puppies

For the past 2 weeks I've been house sitting for different people that I work with. It's been great relaxing in giant houses all by myself, getting to watch whatever show I want on television, soaking in jacuzzi tubs. The best part has been the puppies that I get to watch as well. It's amazing how much joy an animal can bring to your life. Corra was the first puppy I was taking care of. She's a golden retriever and only a few of months old. It's fun to watch her frolic in the grass and chase her tail. She would be so exhausted at the end of each night that she would curl up next to me and fall asleep. That right there is pure contentment! Everything went well with her until the last night. While working on my laptop I unhooked the cable between my coputer and digital camera. Not even thinking of the cable dangling so enticingly over the bed I went on with my work. About an hour later I looked down and saw Corra sitting there so patiently with this gleam in her eye. Then I saw the cord; chewed down with the end completely mangled and sitting across the room. DOH!!!

I learned a very useful lesson that night. Make sure all your items are properly baby/puppy proofed!!! Someday when I have a dog of my own I'll be sure to have everything in my home prepared! In the meantime, there won't be pictures posted on my blog for awhile. That is, until I get a new connector cord.

"You have a really pretty ear."

On Saturday, June 28, I went along with some friends to help an up and coming political candidate....Bill Dew. His son Jake was in my old ward, and invited me to come along for a parade and then an afternoon of boating on Utah Lake.
The parade was held in Lehi and it was extremely fun waving to everyone as Jake and I walked by pulling a handcart. If you get a chance, visit Bill Dew's website...www.billdew.com
Anyway, I degress. After the parade we loaded up with some of Jakes relatives and went to Utah Lake to do some tubing and swimming. One of the cousins brought his friend, Ben, who offered to ride the 2 man inner tube with me. I crawled on, got myself positioned on one side and prepared myself for the onslaught of water that was to come. Ben eagerly climed on, and instead of positioning himself next to me, proceeded to climb right on top of me. His words, "this will help you stay on longer and won't wear your arms out." I was a bit apprehensive about this, but didn't have a chance to say anything as the boat immediately started pulling away and off we went. Regardless of what Ben said, I still had to hold on tightly and realised that I have muscles in places I never knew existed.
After a couple runs on the inner tube I was exhausted and happily placed my head down for a rest while people climbed on the other inner tubes. Ben was now laying next to me with his face about 4 inches away from myne. He looked at me and said, "has anyone ever told you, you have a really pretty ear." Yep, you read that right. I've got a pretty ear! LOL Ben then lifted my head up looked at my other ear and told me that they were indeed gorgeous. Now I've been told before that I've got pretty eyes, skin, etc., but never have I heard of a pretty ear! For once I was at a loss for words, and thankfully Will, one of the Dew cousins shouted out...."AWKWARD" and the boat took off again for another relentless beating.
The rest of the day was alot of fun, despite riding one of the inner tubes and feeling as if my bum was smacking into cement. I've made some great new friends, and I look forward to helping with the rest of the Dew Congressional Campaign.
Enjoy the pictures...
